ONOMATOPOEIA

Onomatopoeia is a word that may seem strange to the ear , but it is very often used in everyday life. If you 've said " beating heart " , " cock crow " , " whistling bullets ," you're adept at using onomatopoeia . Onomatopoeia , in simple definition , are words that imitate the sound of objects, activities , or situations . The beating , crow , and desing , are words that imitate the sound of a heartbeat , the sound of chicken , and bullets are being shot .

 

Example Onomatopoeia :
Ringing sounds:
Chime, chink, clang, clank, clink, ding, ding-dong, ping, ring, jingle
Continuous sounds:
